Valid Driving License

→ With an IDP + your national driving license, you are legally allowed to ride a motorbike in Vietnam. - A foreign driving license alone (without IDP) → not valid in Vietnam.
- Long-term residents can convert their foreign license to a Vietnamese license at the Department of Transport.
- Without a Valid License: In practice, many tourists still rent and ride motorbikes. However: Police may fine you if stopped. Most importantly: travel insurance will not cover accidents if you don’t have a valid license.
